Experience the high mountains from a kayak when we paddle 1 000 metres above sea level on Norway’s fourth largest lake. From this vantage point you can view the majestic high-mountain terrain. This tour combines paddling with hiking on land. We stay overnight in cabins where dinner is served. Duration: 2 days

Come and experience the western fjord country at its finest, with steep mountains and lush vegetation. We paddle through the dramatic Suldalsporten strait and visit idyllic locations with a fascinating cultural history that are accessible only by water. We try to spot the “bergfrue” (Norway’s national flower), eat lunch and make coffee over an open fire. Duration: About 6 hours

Hyls Fjord and Lingvong Farm
Experience fjords and mountains on the same tour. Paddling on the fjord is combined with a hike up the mountainside to Lingvong Farm, 500 metres above sea level. Here we eat lunch and enjoy the fabulous views. We begin from Hylen. Duration: 6-8 hours

Experience the best of the western fjord country’s nature and culture as you paddle down the river. We adapt the tour to your wishes – either quiet and calm or a little faster and more exciting. Duration: About 4 hours

Canoeing on Mosvatnet Lake
We paddle on Mosvatnet Lake, go ashore on islands and visit an old milking cabin. This is an ideal tour for the entire family. Duration: About 3 hours.

About the Paddle Academy
The Paddle Academy was established in Suldal in 2012. The company is operated by Jens Marcussen, who has taken advanced courses in canoeing and sea kayaking offered by the Norwegian Canoe Association. He is an avid river kayaker in his leisure time, and he has completed the international lifesaving course “Whitewater Rescue”. Jens works as a lecturer in Outdoor Life, Culture and Nature Guiding at Telemark University College and is responsible for the paddling curriculum and instruction at the college.
